JustGiving Campaigns: Individual Pages
Once your JustGiving campaign is live, you can now setup individual fundraising pages. This guide takes you through step by step how you are able to do this through our test example.
Step 1 - GET STARTED
Once York SU have set your campaign up for you and your page is live, head to your main page, and click the orange 'Start Fundraising' button to begin the process of creating your own Fundraising Page.
Step 2 - SIGN-UP
You'll next be taken to a login page. It's unlikely that your group already has a JustGiving login, but if you do you can simply log-in from here. We'd ask you use your @yorksu.org email address and not a personal email address or JustGiving account.
If you've not got an account, you'll be asked to provide some more details to sign-up and create an account, using your group's details.
For example:
First Name: Test
Last Name: Society
Email: testsociety@yorksu.org
You will later be asked to complete your profile and add in an address. You can add York SU's address which is:
The Student Centre, Newton Way, Heslington, York, YO10 5DD
Step 3 - SELECT YOUR ACTIVITY
You can then select the fundraising activity you are doing. For this, we would recommend you select the option in the bottom right hand corner 'Doing your own thing'. Which gives you flexibility on what you can add to your page, You can still link Strava, Fitbit or livestreams to your page with this option, so the rest of this guide works you through what happens after you click that option.
Select 'Start' under the 'Doing your Own Thing' heading.
Step 3 - PAGE SETUP
You will now be taken to a page to begin the setup of your page.
Before you begin to fill in the details, make sure the page you are creating is linked to the correct campaign. In the example, this page would be linked to the main Roses 2023 JustGiving page.
Now it's time to fill in the details:
How much do you want to raise?
Adding an amount here is optional, but it's great to have a target to work towards so definitely worth consider adding one in.
Type of Activity:
Choose from the drop-down what fundraising you will be doing. If it's just an appeal, you can include 'an appeal for a charity' or if you'll be challenging yourself with a swim, trek or cycle you can add that in.
Activity Name:
Input here what you are doing, such as 'test society runs 50km for xyz charity'.
Activity Date:
If you're carrying out your activity on a certain day, add that in here.
Is this a special occasion?:
Leave this option unticked.
Then click 'Next: Personalise'
Step 4 - PERSONALISE YOUR PAGE
Here, you can begin to personalise your page to your group. You are also able to return to this step later or make future amendments to your page.
Page Title:
Your page title is what will appear at the top of your page. This will be auto filled with a template so feel free to amend this if you wish.
Why are you raising money?:
This will be filled with the same campaign story that appears on the main page.
You can personalise this as you wish, and you may like to include:
-Anything your group is doing as part of the fundraiser (e.g.: sponsored activity)
-Why this cause is important to your group in particular
Customise your web URL:
Here you can amend the URL of your webpage for when you're sharing this.
After you've done this, you can click 'Next: Page Cover'
STEP 5 - FINALISE YOUR PAGE
The final step before your page is live is adding in a page cover. This will be automatically filled with the cover from your main page, but if you'd like to personalise this you can add your own photos, videos or even stream link here.
Then click 'Next: Finalise'
At this point, your page is almost ready, you just need to opt-in or out of marketing from JustGiving, agree to the Terms of Service, Privacy Notice and the Fundraising Regulator Guidance Notes.
Once you're happy, you can click 'Launch page'.
STEP 6: REVIEWING AND UPDATING YOUR PAGE ONCE IT'S LIVE
Your group's page is now live, and you should be transported to your completed page with any amended information.
You can see what the campaign page looks like when anyone visits your page.
You can also see from the screenshots to the right, that you're able to:
Connect Strava to the campaign for automatic updates
Add Strava data manually
Connect Fitbit to the campaign for automatic updates
Connect Twitch to embed fundraising into your livestreams
Post updates (text and photos) to your supporters to keep everyone updated on reaching your goal.
STEP 7: EDITING YOUR PAGE ONCE IT'S LIVE
If you want to edit the content on your page, you click the button under the JustGiving Logo at the top of the page 'Edit your Page'.
On the 'Edit your Page' section, you can make amendments to any of the content, add photos and videos.
WHERE YOUR PAGE APPEARS
Your page will then be linked on the main campaign, under the 'Fundraisers' section. Anything you raise as part of your fundraising, will add to the overall campaign total.
See example to the right for 'Test Profile'.
LOGGING BACK IN TO YOUR PAGE
Once you've setup the page initially, you can then revisit the page by going to Justgiving.com and clicking login.
To find your fundraising page you've already set up, click your group's name in the top right hand corner and click on 'fundraising'.
You will then see a list of your active pages and click to either 'edit' or 'view'.
